The Rise of Yerevan Shopping Culture
“The quickest way to know a woman is to go shopping with her,” Marlene Cox once noted. Indeed, nothing else reveals a person’s taste, preferences, and character as much as shopping. Shopping culture is a type of ritual for many people around the globe, and different people perceive and approach it in different ways.
Some people shop as a pastime after a tiring day, or to fill in the blank space of a leisure day. For others, however, shopping is just an action performed when they need something (these are generally men). Still, there is a third type of people for whom shopping is a mania: the shopaholics. You can choose which one of these people to be, but one thing is for sure: Everyone adopts a certain pattern of shopping culture everywhere.
Yerevan also has a shopping culture that has experienced a notable rise during the recent years. One after another, big shopping malls have opened in Yerevan, offering a variety of brands, both local and world-famous, for any taste. In contrast, in Yerevan just a few years ago, it was not an easy task to find the right clothes and accessories for every style. But now, it is absolutely possible. People in Yerevan have begun to follow fashion trends, developing individual styles and just having fun at malls!
Currently, there are three to four big malls with a selection of clothing and accessories. For popular brands and the fans of sassy-fashionable-cute-grunge-boho-casual, you can visit Yerevan Mall and Dalma Garden Mall, offering brands ranging from Mango to Armani, depending on your preference and budget. To find locally produced fashion, you can visit Rossia Mall. Meanwhile, Arinj Mall offers even more affordable pieces of reasonable quality, along with other types of goods at the stores next to the mall. At these malls, parking and transportation are readily available for the comfort of the visitors. So are food courts, where you can have a snack if you’re too tired to continue shopping. Stopping at a cinema in any of these malls is another good idea! In some of these malls, you can even take your children to kids’ hairdresser salons, where your kids can get a cool new hairstyle while watching cartoons or playing games. Everything is here to guarantee that visitors—friends, family, or individual shoppers—have a fun time.
So if you are planning on visiting Yerevan and can’t imagine your stay without shopping, you can count on Yerevan malls for a good time!
